Is your version still supported?

Pick a runtime, database or framework and enter your version. You get its support status and end-of-life date, the line to move to, the Docker tag for it, and, for Lambda runtimes, when AWS stops patching it.

Release lines ending soon

Across the products above, every release line whose security support ended in the last 60 days or ends in the next six months, soonest first.

Last checked against endoflife.date.

How it works

  • Support dates come from endoflife.date. A version is matched to its release line: 18.20.4 is Node.js 18, 3.9.18 is Python 3.9.
  • Past its end-of-life date, a line is end of life; within 180 days of it, it’s close. The line to move to is the newest supported one, a long-term support line where the product has them.
  • For products with an official Docker image, the same logic as the Dockerfile checker picks the tag to move to and confirms it on Docker Hub.
  • For Node.js, Python, Ruby, Java and .NET, the matching AWS Lambda runtime’s dates come from endoflife.date’s AWS Lambda page.

To check every runtime, image and framework a project pins at once, paste the repo into the dependency check. For security advisories on a specific version, use the Node.js, Next.js, React or Django checker.

Questions

What does end of life mean here?

The date the project stops shipping security fixes for that release line. Software keeps running after it, but new vulnerabilities in it won’t be fixed. Some products also have an earlier end of active support, after which only security fixes ship.

Where do the dates come from?

From endoflife.date, a community-maintained project that collects each vendor’s published support policy. Every result links to the product’s page there, which cites the vendor’s own source.

What does the AWS Lambda deprecation date mean?

From the deprecation date AWS stops applying security patches to that runtime and new functions can’t use it. Later, updates to existing functions are blocked too. Functions already deployed keep running, as endoflife.date’s AWS Lambda page explains.

How is the Docker tag chosen?

It’s the newest supported line, preferring long-term support where the product has it, as a tag on the official image. For official images the tag is confirmed on Docker Hub first. The Dockerfile checker does the same for every FROM line in a file.
